What Engine Options Does the 2020 BMW X3 Offer?

When you are interested in a car, there are a lot of different ways people might try to sell it to you. Features, colors, prices, and any other aspect are put in front of you to try and entice you towards a car. These are all good things to keep in mind when buying a car, but one thing will override all of those different aspects.

How you feel behind the wheel of a car will be its main selling point. A car can have all of the technical aspects right, but if it is boring to drive, then you are going to pass on it. You need something that can get the heart racing when you rev the engine. The 2020 BMW X3 offers two different engines that aim to give you that experience.

2020 BMW X3 Engine Options

The engine is the beating heart of any car. The 2020 BMW X3 offers a hearty engine to start but can be outfitted with something sportier if preferred. The first engine is a 2.0L inline-4 design meaning the four cylinders of the engine are arranged in a line. A turbocharger is also added to the engine to help it generate more power without using more fuel. It can generate 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. What does that mean for its fuel economy? The X3 has an EPA-estimated combined 27 mpg.

How well does the other engine perform? To start, it is a bit bigger than its counterpart. This engine sits at 3.0L and has an inline-6 configuration. More pistons and a larger size allow the engine to generate 382 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. It does have a slightly lower fuel economy, only reaching a combined 23 mpg, but the power is worth it.
